The parking lot and all parking spaces at Henson Park are part of the common area. Each parking space is owned by the HOA itself. The Parking Regulations (below) exist to insure that residents and their guests enjoy the use of their assigned spaces and any other appropriate parking spaces on the property. The Parking Regulations may be amended by the Henson Park Board of Directors at any time.
Remember:
You are responsible for your guest's compliance with these regulations.
Please maintain a safe, slow speed when driving on the property.
If you have any questions about the Parking Regulations, speak to a Board member before parking your vehicle on the property.
If you do not agree with these parking regulations there are many on-street parking spaces nearby which you can use as an alternative.
If you rent your unit you must provide the tenants a copy of these parking regulations.
The Henson Park By-Laws provide each unit with the exclusive use of one parking space. Because this was not sufficient for each unit, the members of the Henson Park Homeowners Association voted to provide each unit with the exclusive use of two assigned spaces. The following parking regulations are to insure that residents and their guests enjoy the use of those assigned spaces and any other appropriate parking spaces on the property. The Parking Regulations may be amended by the Henson Park Board of Directors at any time. Remember:
• You are responsible for your guest's compliance with these regulations.
• Please maintain a safe, slow speed when driving on the property.
• If you have any questions about the Parking Regulations, speak to a Board member before parking your vehicle on the property.
These parking regulations were adopted by the Henson Park Homeowners Association Board of Directors in July, 2020, replacing all previous Parking Regulations. All owners of record have received these updated Parking Regulations provided to them by the Henson Park Homeowners Association Board of Directors as part of the Annual Meeting notice for 2020.
Residents may park only in the spaces marked as reserved for their unit, or in the unmarked curb-side spaces. Residents are defined as owner-residents or tenants living at Henson Park.
Residents may not park in those spaces marked as "Visitor".
Only approved vehicles may be parked in reserved and unmarked curb-side spaces. An approved vehicle includes any conventional passenger vehicle or truck or commercial vehicle of less than 2.5 tons in gross weight. Recreational vehicles, boats, trailers, large commercial vehicles, campers, junk cars or the equivalent are not permitted.
Individual parking arrangements between residents is permissible.
All vehicles parked on the property must display current licenses and Virginia State inspection stickers and be maintained in proper operating condition.
Guests may park in spaces marked "Visitor" for a period not to exceed 24 hours, or in curb-side spaces.
Guests may park in their host's space if the host has moved their car to an unmarked space.
No parking is permitted:
In any fire lane (marked by signs and/or yellow paint)
At the top of the hill by the concrete retaining wall
Behind other cars parked in reserved spaces
Cars must be parked to allow access to all spaces, the roadway and sidewalks. Violation of this policy is not only an inconvenience to residents but also a safety hazard. We need to maintain access to the property for emergency vehicles. Anyone seeing cars parked in the fire lane should call the Arlington County Police (703-558-2222) for ticketing.
Residents are responsible for ensuring that their guest's or commercial service vehicles are parking only in their unit's reserved spaces, a visitor's space, or in a curb-side space.
Only passenger automobiles, vans, and small commercial vehicles may be parked on the property.
Any service performed on your vehicle must be accomplished within your unit's reserved spaces and must not create a hazard or unsightly appearance. The vehicle must be attended to the entire time. Gasoline, oil, and automotive fluids must not be disposed of in the parking area, on the sidewalks, or on the grounds.
Vehicles in violation of these regulations will be towed, without notice, at the vehicle owner's expense and risk. Members of the Henson Park Board of Directors are the only people authorized to call the towing company. If at any time you need to have a car towed that is in your space or blocking your access, please contact one of the Board members at HensonParkHOA@gmail.com. All residents should be responsible for monitoring fire lane violations.
To retrieve a towed vehicle call A1 Towing (703-416-0710) to confirm that the vehicle has been towed.
