The parking lot and all parking spaces at Henson Park are part of the common area. Each parking space is owned by the HOA itself. The parking lot requires periodic maintenance and in late August/early September the parking lot will be closed for this purpose. Details are included below.
The Board of Directors has hired a firm to crack-seal, seal-coat, and re-stripe the entrances, roadways, and parking spaces, so the parking lots will be closed from Monday, September 13th to Wednesday, September 15th. This project will renew the life of the asphalt surfaces, as well as, improve safety and aesthetics in the community. Once completed, this project will not need to be done again for a few years. We ask for your patience and understanding while the work is being performed.
The schedule for completion of the project is as follows:
Day 1: Crack Sealing – All pavement cracks that require repair will be cleaned of debris and filled with a crack-filler machine.
Day 2: Seal-coating – High power blowers to remove dirt and debris from the asphalt surface, scuff and treat oil spots, and apply Seal Master sealer.
Day 3: Re-striping – Remove flaking and peeling paint from curb, paint yellow curb, and stencil visitor and reserved spots.
All entrances, roadways, and parking lot areas will close at 7:00 am on Monday, September 13th and will reopen at 7:00 am on Thursday, September 16th. This work includes both the Glebe Road and 21st Road parking lots. Any vehicles left in the parking lot at 7:00 am Monday, September 13th will be towed at the owner’s expense by A-1 Towing and Recovery.

Parking – You may not leave any vehicle in the lots or on any concrete parking pads, for any reason. Remove all vehicles from the property. There is free parking on the public streets surrounding the HOA which you can use for the duration of this project. If you will be on vacation, arrange for a trusted driver to move your vehicle on your behalf. Move disabled vehicles off the property or they will be towed. You may not park on a sidewalk.
Vehicular Traffic – No traffic of any kind (car, truck, motorcycle, motor driven cycle, bicycle, etc) will be allowed on the parking lots and roadways during the time your section is closed. Please abide by all barricades and signs; they are for your safety!
Deliveries/Workman – No deliveries of any kind of packages (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc) or food deliveries will be allowed on the property. Ensure important packages are delivered in advance of or after the closing. US mail will be delivered “by foot” to the mailboxes. If you are having work performed on your unit ensure your schedule accounts for this project.
Pedestrians/Pets – Please stay off the asphalt while the parking lot is closed. Walking through the seal coat will result in tracking of the product onto concrete sidewalks and into your homes. Use the sidewalks to get around the property, even if your path to/from your home is longer than usual.
Weather – All dates are weather dependent. In the event of rain, we may be forced to cancel the project for that day, and you will be notified when the project has been rescheduled.
If you rent your property please ensure you alert your tenants regarding this work so their vehicles are not needlessly affected.
We thank you again for your patience and understanding as we complete this important project in the community.
